The result is a distinctive and inventive graphic system that literally responds to art\u2014a fundamental attribute of the Whitney since its founding in 1930. This dynamic identity, which the designers refer to as the \u201cresponsive \u2018W\u2019\u201d, also illustrates the Museum\u2019s ever-changing nature.
